SMOKING CESSATION
Smoking is an unhealthy habit. But it does have some short term benefits. Nicotine is addictive. It also acts as a mild central nervous system stimulant, which is why many people find it relaxing. The act of lighting up provides you with something to and on its own seems to relieve stress. That’s why it’s so hard to quit. Hypnotherapy can bring you to that relaxed state, without having to reach for a cigarette, and so help you to quit smoking for good.
Hypnotherapy has also been shown to help individuals challenge the impulse that makes them reach for a cigarette, and is just as effective as traditional smoking cessation programmes. It can counter the message that tells you that you need to smoke, and help you to build new, positive, internal dialogue. ‘I need a cigarette’ becomes ‘I don’t need to smoke, I care for my body, I will look after myself.’
In our session I will help you to visualise a new, healthy you, who no longer needs to smoke in order to get through the day. You will be confident in your ability to quit, and have the resources to fight the urge to smoke. By listening to your personalised audio recording you will be able to reinforce these new beliefs and live your life smoke free.
